A useful switchgear quotation starts with the actual electrical requirement, not only a model name. For custom LV switchgear, distribution boards, MV switchgear or outdoor distribution boxes, the following information helps the manufacturer check the scope before pricing.
1. Single-line diagram
The single-line diagram shows incoming power, transformer or utility source, main breaker, busbar arrangement, outgoing feeders, metering and protection functions. It is the most important document for a drawing-led quotation.
2. BOQ or cabinet schedule
A BOQ, feeder schedule or cabinet list helps confirm how many panels are required and how each circuit should be arranged. If a full BOQ is not available, provide the number of incoming cabinets, outgoing feeders and special control sections.
3. Electrical ratings
Confirm system voltage, rated current, frequency, short-circuit withstand level and phase arrangement. For outdoor boxes or medium-voltage equipment, also confirm installation environment and enclosure requirement.
4. Component preference
Many projects specify preferred breaker, contactor, meter, relay or capacitor component brands. If the brand is not fixed, the quotation can include a proposed configuration for review.
5. Installation and cable entry
Cabinet dimensions, top or bottom cable entry, front or rear access, wall-mounted or floor-mounted installation and IP rating can change the structure and cost.
6. Destination and documentation
Destination country, packing requirement, project schedule and required documents should be stated early. Routine test records, drawings and packing details should match the confirmed project scope.
Quick checklist before sending an RFQ
- SLD or electrical scheme
- BOQ, feeder list or cabinet schedule
- Voltage, current, frequency and short-circuit level
- IP rating and installation environment
- Preferred component brand
- Quantity and destination country

For common project enquiries, review the electrical equipment range first, then send the matching drawings and schedules for engineering review.
If these documents are not complete, send what you have first. Zejiefu can review the available information and list the missing points before preparing a project-based quotation.
Prepare a coordinated RFQ package
Use the SLD and BOQ preparation guide to align feeder references, ratings, installation requirements and document revisions before submitting the enquiry.
